Our Story
Born in Soho in 1927 and a resident ever since, Violet - the ‘Queen of Soho’ - became a true local institution. Under her curation, Violet’s Restaurant was created as a place with the old-school Soho atmosphere that harkened back to the days when she could be found dancing with American Officers in WWII at the Astoria, before heading out for late-night salt beef sandwiches.
Today, Violet’s Restaurant continues her legacy with a new chapter. While the name remains the same, the restaurant has been reimagined as a celebration of Georgian ckhachapurire, the timeless character of Soho meets the rich traditions of Georgia - from freshly baked khachapuri and handmade khinkali to hearty dishes made for sharing, all served with the warmth and generosity of Georgian hospitality.
And we never forget Violet’s number one rule:
“When you live in Soho, whatever you hear, whatever you see, zip it!”
As we say in Georgia:
“Every guest is a gift from God.”
“სტუმარი ღვთის საჩუქარია.”
